Hello young reader. There are two fascinating characters in this story. Some would say them to be lovers, some would say enemies, they have shaped each other’s life by intersecting it and dissecting it in various aspects time and again. They are beautiful people. Smart and intelligent, high in virtue in their own right. But as every story has a villain, I will leave the burden on you, oh trustworthy reader! To decide who is the hero and who is the real villain. These two gems of men have collided because of opposite viewpoints. Of Course they have vices. Even the creator has it. By creator I mean creator of this book, that is me. But i sure pray to god that you don’t have any oh righteous reader of mine! So you can help me decide if you really need a villain to flutter your heart or you equally enjoy a happy story

Rice and dice were two best friends. Their real names have been forgotten because it was used only on 3 occasions of their 30 year old life.

Rice and dice were two reputable scientists who came to fame because of their genius. Their young age made the press friendly. They were friends since childhood and shared much passion about the science of the universe. This passion only grew with age and they tried to conquer the universe together through school and college. They were a good team. They balanced each other, thus bringing effectiveness to all the projects they worked on.

Their real name was used during the issuing of their birth certificate. During admission in school. Then the universe didn’t feel like any use of their real names, hence for some reason never gave an opportunity for so. 

Rice was called rice because of his love for rice. Dice was called dice because he was scared of dice. These names were given to them by their schoolmates. It was not out of love. This name calling continues long enough for rice and dice to own it. 

Once rice and dice were out with their parents shopping at the only mall the town had. Like all young children, malls made super excited and they ran about. In the process  they lost the track of parents, who ended up at the announcement center shouting the name of their children. The name they shouted was rice and dice. The town was small and teh mall was smaller. Everybody knows everybody. And this is how they were forever to be called rice and dice. Poor dice. Whenever he would hear his name he would freak out. And it was often.

Another reason for a great bond between them was hydrogen. The element of hydrogen greatly fascinated them almost to the point of obsession. And anybody who is obsessed with hydrogen would be obsessed with jupiter. Jupiter was the largest planet in the solar system and consisted mostly of hydrogen and some helium. That is why they were hooked.

Rice and dice would have spent their life talking about  hydrogen and the planet which had a small but undefined rocky surface . they have spent many a night looking at it, as it shone brightly in the night sky.  However Jupiter was not the only planet considered a gas giant. There are other gas planets such as Neptune, Uranus and Saturn. But the reason why jupiter was their favorite one was because of its moons. And that was also the reason they had a disagreement.

Jupiter had over 79 moons or natural satellites. The 4 largest moons were  called galilean moons and were visible from earth at night with a pair of binoculars. And this they thought is unfair. Jupiter used to exercise great command over these moons which had won the sympathy of rice and dice. The shapes of the moon were at the mercy of Jupiter’s gravitational pull.

Currently they are working a self manned flight to jupiter which will gather information how some moons can be put to better use. It would not be the first time they are doing so. Their last drone was sucked into the great storm of jupiter. This was one of the storms which has never known to stop and has been raging for centuries.   

At this moment they are trying to solve a particular problem. It was regarding the velocity shield. Velocity shields become more than crucial because Jupiter moves really fast on its axis. You need a hell of a strong shield to safeguard a rotation cycle of 10 hours. And it seems they would need help.
